One of the great promises of God is that He assigns angels to watch over and protect us:
For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. Psalm 91:11-13 (NKJV)
Have you ever questioned where angels were when you needed them the most? Be assured that they were there keeping even worse things from happening. But perhaps they could have accomplished even greater things, if you had just known how to activate them.
Some of you may be thinking, “What happened to Rodney? He has gone all New Age on us.” Not at all. I’m just reading the Bible and relaying what God says.
People with an unhealthy focus on angels and demons seem to think they can tell them what to do. The irony is, they are not far from the truth but they often miss the context. Let’s go back to the beginning of the Psalm, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High… Because you have made the Lord… your dwelling place…” So, first and foremost, the ability to activate angels is only available to those who are properly connected to the vine. (John 15:5)
Furthermore, angels are not our personal servants to order around according to our whims. We are GOD’s children and HE has given HIS servant angels guardianship over us on the earth. Psalm 103 tells us that angels do HIS word, heed the voice of HIS word, and do HIS pleasure. So, the secret is to speak GOD’s Word in every situation. Angels will never act outside of God’s Word, and will often wait to hear His voice before going into action.
The saddest part of this simple process is that too many of us do not know God’s Word well enough to speak it when we need it. As a result, our angels are not activated and our life falls short of what God intends it to be. Allow me to challenge you today my friend. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” (Proverbs 18:21) Don’t let your angels be bored. Excite them with the Word of God and let them fulfill their destinies in your life.
Shalom!
Rodney
