10 Steps to Man Up!

With Father’s Day just a few days away. I thought it would be a great time for a quick refresher on how those of us of the male persuasion can Man Up! So here we go:

1. Straighten Up!
   ”Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior.  Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:31-32 (NLT)
2. Fess Up!
   “But he gives us even more grace to stand against such evil desires. As the Scriptures say, ‘God opposes the proud but favors the humble.’” James 4:6 (NLT)
   
3. Look Up!
   “I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.” Psalm 16:8 (NKJV)
   
4. Stand Up!
   God said, “I looked for someone who might rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards the land. I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I wouldn’t have to destroy the land, but I found no one.” Ezekiel 22:30 (NLT)
   
5. Step Up!
   ”But among you, it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of everyone else. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mark 10:43-45 (NLT)
   
6. Daddy Up!
   “Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.” Proverbs 22:6 (NLT)
   
7. Partner Up!
   ”Wounds from a sincere friend are better than many kisses from an enemy.” Proverbs 27:6 (NLT)
   
8. Pony Up!
   ”Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.” Luke 6:38 (NLT)
   
9. Lift Up!
   ”So encourage each other and build each other up” 1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NLT)
   
10. Level Up!
    ”Do you see any truly competent workers? They will serve kings rather than working for ordinary people.” Proverbs 22:29 (NLT)
